Phosphorus levels in the offshore waters of the Great Lakes – Status and trends of phosphorus levels in the offshore waters of the Canadian Great Lakes The Canadian Environmental Sustainability Indicators (CESI) program provides data and information to track Canada's performance on key environmental sustainability issues. The Phosphorus levels in the offshore waters of the Great Lakes indicator reports total phosphorus levels in the offshore waters of the 4 Canadian Great Lakes. A lake's phosphorus status is determined by comparing spring total phosphorus levels to its water quality objectives and the health of the lake's food web. Failure to meet a water quality objective for phosphorus suggests a greater risk to the health of the lake ecosystems. Information is provided to Canadians in a number of formats including: static and interactive maps, charts and graphs, HTML and CSV data tables and downloadable reports. See supplementary documentation for data sources and details on how those data were collected and how the indicator was calculated. 2017-05-31 2017-06-19 Environment and Climate Change Canada open-ouvert@tbs-sct.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentSociety and Cultureenvironmental indicatorswaterwater qualityGreat Lakesregional ecosystemsphosphorusoffshore waterswater quality objectivesstatustrendsnutrients Data table (CSV; 1.70 KB)CSV http://www.ec.gc.ca/indicateurs-indicators/A5EDAE56-97BE-451B-82F1-17F0692A84CF/GreatLakesPhosphorus_EN.csv Data table (CSV; 1.99 KB)CSV http://www.ec.gc.ca/indicateurs-indicators/A5EDAE56-97BE-451B-82F1-17F0692A84CF/GreatLakesPhosphorus_FR.csv Data Sources and MethodsHTML http://www.ec.gc.ca/indicateurs-indicators/default.asp?lang=En&n=888A582B-1 Data Sources and MethodsHTML http://www.ec.gc.ca/indicateurs-indicators/default.asp?lang=Fr&n=888A582B-1 Indicator page – Phosphorus Levels in the Great LakesHTML http://www.ec.gc.ca/indicateurs-indicators/default.asp?lang=En&n=A5EDAE56-1 Indicator page – Phosphorus Levels in the Great LakesHTML http://www.ec.gc.ca/indicateurs-indicators/default.asp?lang=Fr&n=A5EDAE56-1
