Since May 2014 (almost 8 months), CIC processed just 2 months of applications in the inland spousal sponsorship program (that is July and August 2013 applications). The delays for AIP have almost tripled as compared to last year (from 4 to 6 months last year to 15 months now). The motifs for this increase have not been disclosed and people have not been announced about it before they applied. That means that 10,000 families are now prisoners of the system, with no health card, no work permit, and no right for spouses to leave Canada. When will CIC go back to work on these files? Or how many more years do we have to wait? And please, don't insult our intelligence with a phony answer! Thank you.

Can you please elaborate on how the processing time for London office for spousal cases was calculated. There is a significant jump in the time period from 11 months to 26 months. All the family sponsor cases from Pakistan were transferred to London office at the end of 2013. Is the new processing time inclusive of the time period, these cases spent on both Islamabad and London offices or just the time spent in London office? Thanks

We just received approval for permanent residency of our widowed parent but the time frame given for her to arrive must be within the next 2 weeks. This is almost impossible to get the documents back to her in time and book a flight in the height of summer, organize her affairs, and arrive at a Port of Entry. The documents provided say to contact the CIC in Canada, but when contacted they say to contact the issuing office in London, of which there is no listed number. We need to get an extension and get this sorted as soon as possible since the document and application are voided past that date. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Great information. I too am looking for a 12 month rolling dataset but not sure how easy this is to produce. I think due to the fact that so many VO's are processing applicants from multiple countries, it would be helpful to break down the processing times, acceptance / refusal by applicant citizenship (I guess people can have more than one...so perhaps their latest). This also speaks to the comments made above about in terms of the London VO. As well, it would be helpful to have some correlating resource information, such as the number of full time staff (or equivalent) working on cases in each VO for the 12 month period. A couple of weeks ago the processing times for family class jumped dramatically (statistically impossible according to some) and then Aug 27 the times were updated again. What happened? Also, the information on this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp says the results are updated quarterly, but it would be helpful to indicate on that same page 1) the time period being considered and 2) a link to the dataset that the number is based on. This would make the data truly open and transparent - and more meaningful. Thank you.

Dear Sir, I would like to ask about the Processing times for investor class (Quebec) applications I have had CSQ since May 2013. I received a letter from CIC on January 29 2014 that let me know my application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2013/08/06. Also, this letter showed me my UCI and Application No and told me "Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing" So in my case, is the processing time calculated from 2013/8/6 or from 2014/1/29? Thank you.

Hi Mohammad, Apologies, I can't replicate that problem here. Mind taking a screenshot of what you're looking at and emailing open-ouvert@tbs-sct.gc.ca? Or just emailing us a bit more detail on what part of the dataset you're looking at. For New Delhi from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 I see 20% completed in 7 months or less, 50% completed in 9 months or less, and 80% completed in 15 months or less, among 4,704 total cases processed for Spouses and Partners. Dear Sir, This is regarding spousal sponsorship, India. I am seeing fast processing for 2015 applicants but not for 2014. March Applicants 2015 recommended for interview got interview dates by Jan 2016 where as July 2014 - Dec 2014 applicants did not receive any dates for their interviews, I agree that each file is different but when the file is recommended for interview, then interview dates should line up in line. But should not lave July 2014-Dec 2014 and speed up 2015. This is truly unfair process. If there is any fraud applicant, u can filter them by scheduling the interview but not holding them for ever. Please do something for back logs.

Hi Marry, The best thing to do would be consult the CIC Refugee page for details on application processes for refugees and private sponsorship: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/ref-sponsor/section-2.asp#a2.15 Alternatively, you can also consult the CIC help centre page here, where you can also get in more direct contact with them: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/index-featured-int.asp Hope this is of some help. Thanks for your question. This comment system leads to the team responsible for transparency and accountability work in the public service. We host datasets and records about many things, including historic statistics on immigration and visa applications, but we don't deal with specific personal files. To find out more about the Quebec-selected skilled workers program, we suggest you have a look here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/quebec/. From what we can find on the website, it appears to take 15 months for an application under the program to be processed (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp -- select "economic class" then "skilled workers - Quebec"). You are also able to view your application status online here: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en&_ga=1.239194698.897480819.1428679771. Hope this is helpful, and best of luck with your application! Karin - open-ouvert team

Hello Sir, My application for FSW got submitted on November 13, 2015. Since then I have not seen any changes in my profile apart from Medical passed. The link provided for check application status doesnt work either. So is there any way I can know what is happening with the application, or probably get an estimated time frame for when I might hear something about it. I really appreciate your time and information. Thank you.

Hello... I just wanted to ask that my wife's application for PR is in process at the Canadian Visa office in Manila Philippines since the Fall/2015, and she has 2 dependents on her application but they will not be accompanying her to Canada. They have already requested documentation to the identities and whereabouts of the fathers of the kids but their fathers are not in the picture and been under the legal care of their grandparents..so my question is... Will that cause any delays or any kind of uncertainties on her application to the immigration?? and secondly, it has been about 6 months in processing , How much longer does she have to wait when she gets approval?? Kind regards ROB D.

Hello, thank you for the informative support, it gives good estimation of the processing time, however, I wish you help by answering my question : We submitted our application for permanent resident as skilled worked on November, 2014 and it was received by the representative processing office in London on February 2015. Since then, every time we check on line we only see that our application is in process. Almost 14 months have already passed since the receive of our application and it is still in process. According to the file, the London office has processed 80% of the application received in maximum of 14 months, meanwhile, our application is awaiting review. would you please advise how the processing time is calculated? from the receiving of the application or from the time the application has been started to be reviewed? Thank you.

Hi Bawan, To verify the processing time and any other questions you have on your specific application, it is advisable to contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada directly. The best place to start is on their "contact us" page (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp) -- if you click on the Call Centre title, information on a case-specific inquiries form pops up, along with a telephone number to call during business hours. What is the point of reference for calculating the processing time? Does it start from the date the application is received at the case processing centre at Mississauga or the date the file is received at the visa processing centre abroad from the Mississauga centre?
