Permanent Resident Application Processing – Quarterly IRCC Updates Processing of permanent resident applications, including those for economic class, family class and refugees. Note that prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many of our services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means applications may not be processed at the office closest to where the applicant lives. As a result, only overall processing information is now being reported. 2016-05-31 2017-12-04 Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada open-ouvert@tbs-sct.gc.ca PersonsSociety and CultureIRCCCICimmigrationImmigrationCitizenship and Immigration CanadaImmigration Refugees and Citizenship Canadapermanent residentsPermanent ResidentsPRimmigrantsImmigrants Permanent and Temporary Resident Applications OverviewXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_overview_0001_E.xls Permanent and Temporary Resident Applications OverviewXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_overview_0001_F.xls Archived - Source Countries - Applications Received for Permanent ResidentsXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_PRproc_0001_E.xls Archived - Source Countries - Applications Received for Permanent ResidentsXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_PRproc_0001_F.xls Archived - Source Countries - Authorizations and Visas Issued for Permanent ResidentsXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_PRproc_0002_E.xls Archived - Source Countries - Authorizations and Visas Issued for Permanent ResidentsXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_PRproc_0002_F.xls Destination in Canada - Authorizations and Visas Issued for Permanent ResidentsXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_PRproc_0003_E.xls Destination in Canada - Authorizations and Visas Issued for Permanent ResidentsXLS http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_PRproc_0003_F.xls

How long does the G 5 sponsorship take to process in visa section abroad when the process started from the date which show in stutus of application

Hi there, I got nomination from Alberta and submitted/linked the paperwork to IRCC back in June 2017. Do you know how long it will take to get the result? I didn't apply via Express Entry.

Hello, Unfortunately this is the wrong comment system to ask for help on IRCC applications. For the best advice, please call the IRCC support center: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/client-support-centre.html I also found this resource that might be helpful in answering your question: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=031&top=3 Sorry I could not be of more help. Regards, Momin Open Government

Hi I have a question please, my application for PR it's in process and I traveled outside the country for a few weeks do I need to do update ?

Thank you for your comment Yassine. This comment system leads to the team responsible for Open Data and Open Government work in the public service. We host datasets and records about many things, including statistics on immigration and visa application but we do not deal with these services directly. Please contact your local IRCC office for assistance with your application question: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/index.asp

Hi, There have been a number of requests for data about processing times at various visa offices. IRCC has responded to say "However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means applications may not be processed at the office closest to where the applicant lives. As a result, only overall processing information is now being reported." However, IRCC directly tells applicants where individuals' applications are being processed, even if it is not the office that is closest. Therefore, the data is still very useful. Canadians would prefer to see the data to see how IRCC's approach to leveraging its global network actually works in practice. Thank you.

Thank you for the suggestion Ahmed. Please consult our processing time took, which you may find useful and would adequately represent every unique line of business and region where applicable: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

Database is still showing the data for March 2017 - we are currently in November 2017. Why is that? It should not be very difficult to keep the database up to date, I believe stats are not manually calculated at the end, most probably the summary excel sheet that CIC is providing here is a system generated report and can be populated within seconds.

Thank you for your comment. The extraction of information involves the coordination of multiple units and requires the creation of specific programs to compile and collect data from the Department's databases. This data goes through a quality control stage that verifies the accuracy of the data extracted. Unfortunately delays in the process can occur and we apologize for the inconviences this causes to our users. Operational data updated on a monthly basis can be found here: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/9b34e712-513f-44e9-babf-9df4f7256550 This includes the following dataset: "Source Countries - Applications Received for Permanent Residency (in Persons) by Month" with data up to September 2017. October 2017 data will follow shortly.

Very useful and transparent data. One single recommendation: should be updated more frequently.

Bonjour, je suis à la recherche des données concernant le nombre de demandes de résidences permanentes reçues par catégorie (ou secteur d'activités) pour les années précédant 2015. Authorizations and visas issued refers to the moment an immigrant is approved for permanent residence in Canada. It is equivalent to Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). Applications for permanent residents refers to the number of applications received from clients intending to immigrate to Canada.

What is meant with Authorizations and Visas for Permanent Residents. So Applications for Permanent Residents is (I suppose) people who want to live permanently in Canada. Right? But what is Authorizations and Visas?

Hello I applied for Permanent Residency and I have to provide CIC with an additional document. I applied through Express Entry from Poland. I want to use the IRCC Web Form and I was wondering which office should I send it to, the one in Warsaw (Poland). Thank you

Hello, This comment system leads to the team responsible for transparency and accountability work in the public service. We host datasets and records about many things, including historic statistics on immigration and visa applications, but we don't deal with these services directly. Hello, I am trying to find data on Abu Dhabi Visa office. Is this available? Thank you

Thank you for your comment. Data by visa office is not currently available. Please note, that prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. Bonsoir J'aimerais savoir la réalité sur le bvc Accra pour le délai de traitement anormalement dépassé. On constate que certains sont actuellement à 13,15,17 voire 20 mois d'attente d'ivm

I am a researcher looking for the time series data for immigrants by province, and programme, dividing the data between the principal applicant and spouses and children. Thought in was in prior Facts and Figures, but could not find data in 2015 edition. Where can I find it?

Correct me if I'm wrong but all datasets for the processing/approval rate of PR in 2015-2016 are counted in terms of PERSONS. Are there any datasets that count PR processing/approval rate in terms of terms of APPLICATIONS? Previous datasets (not currently appearing on this platform) included PR processing data in terms of APPLICATIONS.

Thank you for your comment Pierre-André. The tables in the following dataset will have the information you are looking for. "Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada Overview – Quarterly IRCC Updates": http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/0186868b-a04d-4a0e-962e-bdfbac51bfb3

Any idea where we can get a summary of all the processing times IRCC list on their status pages by country and application type? I would need a regular update each time their is an update to system statuses.

Thank you for your comment Clint. The Permanent Resident Application Processing tables are updated on a quarterly basis. The tentative release date for the Q1 2017 update to Permanent Resident Application Processing is early June. For the latest processing times, see IRCC’s website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp Thank you, - IRCC

I get an error message when I attempt to access the data. Is there a technical issue, or is the data being updated? Thank you.

Anwar, there might have been a slight server delay. Everything seems to be working now on our side. Let me know if you're still having problems! Momin, the Open Government team.

Hi Do we have any idea of when will be published the data of the 4th trimester for 2016? I am particularly interested in the Permanent Resident Application Processing section, specifically the "Permanent and Temporary Resident Applications Overview" document. Thank you and best regards!

Hi Sylvain, here is the response from the data owner: Thank you for your comment. The data will be posted in the coming weeks, please check back later. Thank you. Regards, Momin, Open Government team.

There is a huge contradiction in two data set firstly in permanent resident admission (admission of permenanant residence by immigration category) it shows 38450 admission in family class till second quarter of 2016 I.e June 2016 where else in parmenant application processing (permanent and temporery appplication overview )no of admission for permemnt residence under family class shows 53439 til June 2016 so please clarify which data us correct ..

Hi Prashant, The following response has been posted on behalf of the data owner: "Thank you for your comment. Permanent Resident Applications Overview is operational in nature and captures the number of Permanent Residents applications received (intake) for processing. The Permanent Resident Admissions counts the number of persons admitted." -Claudie, the Open Government Team

The current dataset was updated on May 31, 2016 for data upto March 31, 2016. Could you please let us know when the dataset would be updated to provide latest information. Thanks much.

Hello, The following response has been posted on behalf of the data owner: "Thank you for your interest in our datasets. The Permanent Resident Application Processing datasets are included in the IRCC Quarterly Administrative Data Release (QADR). The datasets have been updated with Q2 2016 June data. Thank you." Tasha, the Open Government Team

When are you scheduled to update the data sets ?

Its happened again. Data-sets went missing again. I was waiting for these sets to be updated and I asked you guys so many times but you never answered and it went missing again. 1. Permanent resident visa applications received abroad. 2. CIC Permanent Resident Applicants Awaiting a Decision. And so many other sets.

Hi A.S., I have sent this to the data owner for action. Once I get a reply, I will post it immediately for you. Thanks, Tasha, the Open Government Team

Hi A.S., Thank you for your comment. The response below has been posted on behalf of the data owner: "Thank you for your comment. Prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many of our services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means applications may not be processed at the office closest to where the applicant lives. As a result, only overall processing information is now being reported." Thanks and hope this helps! Tasha, the Open Government Team

This dataset had many more details. Details regarding each Visa Office under IIRC, but now everything has disappeared. Why?

Hi Deepak, Thank you for your comment. I have sent your question to the data owner for action. Once we get a reply, we will post it here for you. Thanks, Tasha, the Open Government Team

Thank you for your comment. The following response has been posted on behalf of the data owner "The Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention Program (CHIRPP) is an injury and poisoning surveillance system presently operating in 11 paediatric and 6 general hospitals across Canada . The CHIRPP system currently transitioned to a web-based system and contains over 2.3 million records. Information collected includes activity at the time of injury, activity leading to the injury, the direct cause of the injury, contributing factors, time and place of the injury event, the patients’ age and sex, up to 3 injuries (body part and nature of injury) and the treatment received in the emergency department. Narrative fields provide information to further refine the coding and identify rare events and/or consumer products. Although only selected hospitals report to CHIRPP, previous work has shown that the data collected through the program represent general injury patterns among Canadian Youth".

Hi Ravier, Efforts are currently underway to make the data associated with the List of Formulants available as an open data resource on the Open Government Portal. In the meantime, please refer to the following for additional information: Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has revised the list of formulants found in pest control products currently registered in Canada under the Pest Control Products Act and Regulations. The revised list reflects the addition of new formulants and the deletion of formulants no longer found in registered pest control products. This list replaces the PMRA List of Formulants dated September 16, 2016. The list is available in a sortable spreadsheet format (Excel) and PDF format which are attached. The list can also be requested through the Pesticides and Pest Management portion of the Health Canada website (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/pest/registrant-titulaire/index-eng.php) or by contacting publications@hc-sc.gc.ca.
