Where can we get descriptions of the headings in this data set. For example "Economic Object Code" - what is it, where is the list. While some are self explanatory, others are not.

We would like to see the following improvements in this data-set. 1) Standardized UTF8 encoding (as per TBS guidelines) 2) URL of the company 3) HQ address of the company 4) Standardized company names (IBM, IBM Canada Inc., IBM CANADA Inc, etc) 5) Standardize spending by government fiscal year 6) Size of company (if known) 7) Ownership of company (Canadian) 8) Category of service purchased 9) ETA for next data-set 10) What is the total GoC IT spending per fiscal year (6B?) 11) How many of the data-sets have been migrated? How many are excluded? Departments excluded? 12) Will this get converted into something like the USA's https://itdashboard.gov 13) Can we follow this international open standard for contracting data - http://standard.open-contracting.org/latest/en/schema/reference/
The coverage is poor. For example, only on forces.gc.ca there is more than 150k disclosures. In that current dataset there is a total of 52k contracts. Keep up the good work!
I noticed some of the data for the 'Military Grievances External Review Committee' has invalid "Reporting Period data (Column AC ), Showing dates/quarter as 20015-2016-Q4 instead of 2015-2016-Q3 (note the "2015")
I applaud the attempt to collate all proactive disclosure data in one file but this cannot possibly be a complete data set. It contains only 532 records drawn from three agencies. Also, what is the time period? The metadata don't say.
Hi Glen, This dataset consolidates all contract reports submitted by federal institutions to the new centralized registry at open.canada.ca. So you’re right, as most institutions are still publishing proactive disclosure reports on their institutional websites. We launched the centralized system last month and institutions will be migrating over time - there's a note on that transition and some additional information here: http://open.canada.ca/search/contracts. We’ll edit the metadata page to clarify that and the time period. Thank you, Kent on behalf of the open-ouvert team
