I am dual national and work hard to bring Uzbekistani students, however IRCC consistently refuses to all applicants. It is waste of our efforts as a Education Advisors, population of Uzbekistan is not poor in comparison many other nationalities IRCC grants regularly Study Permits. Please kindly evaluate realistically this market for education in Canada which has high potential. Thank you in advance.

Hi Makhbuba, this comment system leads to the team responsible for transparency and accountability work in the public service. We host datasets and records about many things, including historic statistics on immigration and visa applications, but we don't deal with policies. My best suggestion would be to contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship or your local Member of Parliament for your concerns.

More information on Student visas can be found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/index.asp

Contact information for your local MP can be found here: https://lop.parl.ca/ParlInfo/Compilations/HouseofCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC

I hope this helps.
Momin, the Open Government team.

Where did the "Study permit holders with a valid permit on December 31st by country of citizenship, 2004-2015, for Canada Total" go to? You are now providing the province/territory info but not the national total info.

Hi, I was wondering if you had data set/ figures of how many student permits are applied for offshore vs onshore?

Thank you for the datasets. I request to see international student enrolment by country and province of origin with province of destination in Canada and educational institution and field of study in which they are/were enroled. The purpose is to compare socio-cultural aspects of sending and receiving provinces with Canadian educational initiatives.

I would like to see data for international students, categorized into fields like country of origin, University of study (if possible), course enrolled in. I am doing a research on students from India, studying in Canadian universities.

definitely agree with Shirley. in the past there was information related to study permit holders by age, so we could at least infer about elementary/secondary versus post-high school.

Hi John, thank you for your feedback. I will share this with the data owners.

Thank you for your suggestion John, we will look into incorporating your suggestion in future enhancements.

I would love to be able to see a breakdown of what kinds of institutions these students came to attend; universities, secondary/elementary schools, language schools, colleges, etc.

Hi Shirley, good recommendation! I will forward your comment to the data owner for review.
