I couldn't find the information on how many applications were processed within the stated processing times for the calendar year.
So I'm not sure if this is the right data set to look for the below information - Canada - Admissions of Permanent Residents by Province/Territory and Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) of Intended Destination. Does CIC provide that info?

the datasets are until october, when will the november data be published?

Can we have the report of paper based applications please ?

Hi, if you issue 20000 visas/year for PGP program but for 2015-2016 you issues less, can we expect more than 20000 in 2017. please advise why CIC did less for 2015-2016? Hopefully i see my question with answer
thanks

Thank you for your comment Yulia.

The Parents and Grandparent program, like all permanent resident programs, is governed by the levels plan tabled by the government and approved by the Parliament. Each year Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada aims to achieve the levels range in each category and does not intend to exceed or fall short based on a previous year’s results. While the results for 2015 and 2016 admissions fell just short of the Cabinet range, the increased efforts to process applications in those years helped position 2017 for success. As such, the department is expected to meet its objective of 20,000 Parent and Grandparent admissions in 2017

thanks a lot for provided information

There was a known technical issue last week with some datasets reverting to previous versions. Please try refreshing and loading the datasets again, September 2017 data should now be appearing properly. We are sorry for the inconvience this has caused.

thank you for replying. is the same technical issue occurring at present? as this is january now and the year-end data is not reflecting in the datasets.

Hi,

Is there a breakdown of applications by immigration category AND source country?

E.g. I would like to determine what proportion of applications from Country X are via spousal sponsorship and Express entry.

Thank you for your comment Ahmed.

Hi I still cannot open the tables on Excel. Blank window.

I tried to open the admissions of permanent residents by country of birth in English, but nothing comes up except a blank Excel window. Can you fix this problem? Thank you.

Hi Francis,

The excel file opens up without issue on our end. Please try again and let us know if the problem persists.

Hi, I am looking for data for 2016 on NS – Permanent residents by source country. Where can I find this?
thank you

Wonderful datasets!! I can see the last month is July 2017. When will you update the datasets with more current months? Thanks

the data set for Canada Permanent Resident admission by country of citizenship is not updated. kindly update with the data of August 2017 and September 2017.

Where can I find the most recent dataset pertaining to the total number permanent residents residing in Canada by country of origin? The data sets I could locate are by quarter or year, but one cannot conclude what the total number is at any given time.

Hi RayJoseph,
Thank you for your comment. This comment system leads to the team responsible for transparency and accountability work in the public service. We host datasets and records about many things, including statistics on IRCC but we do not deal with it directly.
My best recommendation would be to send your request directly to the Statistics-Statistiques@cic.gc.ca mailbox with a detailed description of your request.

Hello, I am wondering where I might find data on the number of PR living in an area? I am specifically interested in the town of Banff, AB. Sadly I see the number of PR applications granted isn't actually listed for Banff, yet it is for our nearby neighbor Canmore. Would I be correct in thinking that the Banff figures are included in the "Alberta - Other" section? Banff being the way that it is must have a high ratio of PRs and Temp foreign workers, I want to see those stats. ie. What percentage of the population of Banff are allowed to vote for instance?

Thank you for your comment Alan.

You are correct that figures for Banff are included in the "Alberta - Other" section of the "Canada - Admissions of Permanent Residents by Province/Territory and Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) of Intended Destination" table. You may be able to obtain information specific to Banff by submitting a request to IRCC for custom data. To do so, please email the Statistics-Statistiques@cic.gc.ca mailbox with a detailed description of your request.

IRCC does not report on the numbers of eligible voters. Please contact Elections Canada by emailing info@elections.ca to obtain these statistics.

Hi i would like to know when you will update the file ?
what is the frequency of updating
thx

Thank you for your comment Jamal.

The IRCC Open Data Portal publication schedule is shown in the titles of each dataset record. For example, the "Permanent Residents – Monthly IRCC Updates" record is updated on a monthly basis.

Are there any data available before Q1 2015?? Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Can you please confirm the year system that IRCC follows for targets. Does it run from Jan-Dec or May-Apr? If IRCC says the target is 300,000 PR's then what is the period they are indicating?

Thanks

Thank you for your comment Bill Hayat.

IRCC reports on PR admissions targets, including Provincial Nominee Program by calendar year, which is inclusive of January 1 - December 31.

More information about planned immigration targets by category can be found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/dp-pm-2017-2018-eng.pdf. Specifically, the Planning Highlights on page 15 of the report provides clarification on the planned permanent resident admissions for 2017.
The Notice – Supplementary Information 2017 Immigration Levels Plan shows the targets for the Provincial Nominee Program: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2016-10-31.asp

Please update the Permanent Resident admissions by country of citizenship. it is updated till june 2017 but now it is september. please update with the july numbers.

Hi M. Mukherjee,

Could you please tell me when you'll publish the data on permanent residents by country of citizenship and province of destination. In previous years, CIC released that data along with the data you've already publish. Regards,

Hello IRCC guys,
Please tell me when you'll publish the data on permanent residents by country of citizenship and province of destination. In previous years, CIC released that data along with the data you've already publish.
Regards,

Thank you for your suggestion. We are working on releasing this table to the Open Data Portal in the coming months.
Currently, the record "Permanent Residents – Ad Hoc IRCC (Specialized Datasets)" has a table "Canada - Admissions of Permanent Residents by Intended Province/Territory of Destination and Country of Citizenship, 2000-March 2016" Link to the record is here: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/ad975a26-df23-456a-8ada-756191a23695

Is there a table that shows detailed place of birth by year going back to 1980? I have found tables that go from 1981- 1996 and then from 2006 - 2015, but nothing for the other years

Hi. Do you have any table showing how many outland spouse sponsorship PRs were issued to each nationality? Or how many outland spouse sponsorship PRs were issued at each VOs outside of Canada?

I had the exact question in mind and would like IRCC to provide this data. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment Maryam and xls. We will consider your suggestion in future updates to the Open Data Portal.
Data by visa office is not currently available. Please note, that prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means applications may not be processed at the office closest to where the applicant lives. As a result, only overall processing information is now being reported.

Information on overall processing times can be found here: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/0186868b-a04d-4a0e-962e-bdfbac51bfb3

Thanks, but I asked for the (admitted) permanent residents by country of citizenship and province of intended destination table (total 2016).
When are you going to publish that?
Regards,

Thank you for your reply Georgina. There is a dataset "Canada - Admissions of Permanent Residents by Intended Province/Territory of Destination and Country of Citizenship, 2000-March 2016" that is found here: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/ad975a26-df23-456a-8ada-756191a23695
Unfortunately the data only goes up to March 2016.
We will consider your suggestion in future enchancements to the Open Data Portal.

I am unsure how to interpret some of your data.

On the data set titled "Canada - Admissions of Permanent Residents by Province/Territory of Intended Destination and Immigration Category, January 2015 - February 2017", there seems to be some discrepancies in the total figures provided. The general quarterly totals don't match the numbers provided in the subsection breakdowns. For instance, the New Brunswick quarter 1 total is listed as 620, whereas the skilled worker subsection quarter 1 total is listed as 4260. I don't understand why these figures are so distinct. Are the larger figures presented in the data representing admissions to the the various programs, whereas the smaller figures are those that are actually completed?

In general, I don't understand how the provincial quarterly totals (for instance, New Brunswick total, row 100) relate to the total numbers of the other subsets of data in those quarters.

Thank you for your comment. The tables are read from top to bottom. So the total for New Brunswick is composed of all the immigration categories above the “New Brunswick Total” line. The values represent the number of admissions to the various immigration categories. Please note that the figures in this table have been subjected to rounding. As a result of this rounding, data may not add up to the totals indicated. I hope this helps clarify how to read our tables.

Hello,
Just a couple of questions...
When are you going to release the number of permanent resident admissions by country of citizenship and intended destination (CMA and province) for 2016?
Any tabulation on economic immigrants' (principal applicants) education for 1980-2016?
Kind regards,

Thank you for your comment. The tables are updated with 2016 data.
The table showing the number of Permanent Resident Admissions by Country of Citizenship is here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_M_PRadmiss_0002_E.xls
The table showing the number of Permanent Resident Admissions by Province/Territory and Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) of Intended Destination is found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/opendata-donneesouvertes/data/IRCC_M_PRadmiss_0005_E.xls

For data on economic immigrants (principal applicants) by education level, you may be able to obtain this information by submitting a request for custom IRCC data.
