Explanatory Notes Data provided by federal jurisdiction employers on their Employer's Annual Hazardous Occurrence Report (EAHOR). This table includes data from both the off-board and on-board reports from the air, rail, and water transportation, federal public services/public service departments/crown corporations (since 2019), and long shoring/stevedoring/port/harbour operations/pilotage (since 2019) industry sectors. The names of the industry sectors have changed in 2018 from previous publications to better describe and group the work within these industry sectors. Starting in 2018 Public Service and Crown Corporations have been combined into Federal Public Services/Public Service Departments/Crown Corporations. Disabling Injury Incidence Rate (DIIR) is the number of disabling and fatal occupational injuries per 100 employees (expressed as full-time equivalents or FTEs). Injury Incidence Rate (IIR) is a measure of all occupational injuries (disabling, fatal and minor) per 100 employees (expressed as full-time equivalents or FTEs). Fatal Injury Incidence Rate (FIIR) is the number of fatal occupational injuries per 100,000 employees (expressed as full-time equivalents or FTEs). Disabling Injury Frequency Rate (DIFR) is the number of disabling and fatal occupational injuries per one million hours worked. Injury Frequency Rate (IFR) is a measure of all occupational injuries (disabling, fatal and minor) per one million hours worked. Fatal Injury Frequency Rate (FIFR) is the number of fatal occupational injuries per one billion hours worked.
