Seedling Survival - Waterton Lakes - Conservation and Restoration Project (Five needle pine)

Seedling Survival - Waterton Lakes - Conservation and Restoration Project (Five needle pine) Whitebark Pine (Pinus albicaulis – listed as Endangered under the Species At Risk Act) and Limber Pine (Pinus flexilis- recommended as Endangered by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada) have undergone extensive population declines across much of their range due to a number of interacting factors. An introduced pathogen (blister rust - Cronartium ribicola) and an increasing severity of native beetle outbreaks (mountain pine beetle - Dendroctonus ponderosae) coupled with a reduced natural fire regime and changes in climate have all contributed to their decline. Seedling Survival of planted seedlings a management effectiveness measure, in part, used to assess the effectiveness of five-needle pine recovery actions in the park. 2020-09-25 Parks Canada robert.sissons@pc.gc.ca Nature and Environmentwhitebark pinelimber pineblister rustmountain pine beetlesrestorationseedling survivalAlberta Seedling Survival - Waterton Lakes - Health data - 1CSV https://124gc.sharepoint.com/:x:/s/external/_layouts/15/download.aspx/EWVkltb9FzlHnOtKHTP1IxcBAmmBCjukqM8kghhbl9S4rg?e=RQIcgw Seedling Survival - Waterton Lakes - Health data dictionary - 2CSV https://124gc.sharepoint.com/:x:/s/external/_layouts/15/download.aspx/Ef1604O1h9pAoypjVp7gNn4BnXyy5Bqg0ixCFt1B-NNQrg?e=M3AaZz
