On November 2, 2017, the Clerk of the Privy Council wrote to deputy ministers (DMs) regarding the Public Service’s continued response to the challenges posed by the pay system.
In his letter, the Clerk requested that each DM inform him of the actions being taken to help stabilize the pay system and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. DMs responded to the Clerk’s letter, and a number of best practices were identified.
In the spirit of openness and transparency, all letters are being posted online so that Canadians can see first-hand the actions being taken to address pay system issues. Senior leadership is listening to concerns and issues raised by employees, and is committed to working collaboratively at all levels to resolve them as quickly as possible.
