CFIA Undeclared Allergens and Gluten in Ready-to-Eat/Heat and Serve Meals - 2016-2017
The main objective of this survey was to obtain baseline information regarding the presence and levels of undeclared allergens and gluten in ready-to-eat (RTE)/heat and serve meals. Of 498 samples tested, 14 were found to contain undeclared allergens including peanut, gluten and egg. 2 of the products sampled were found to present a health risk and were recalled.
