Northern Quebec Surface Depot

Northern Quebec Surface Depot The deposit is the layer of loose material that covers the rock. It may have been put in place during the retreat of the glacier at the end of the last ice age or by other processes associated with erosion and sedimentation. The nature of the soft deposit is evaluated based on the shape of the land, its position on the slope, the texture of the soil or other indicators. Surface deposit maps make it possible to distinguish the main categories of surface deposits, to know their nature, their thickness and their distribution on Quebec territory. The map of northern surface deposits is a component of an extensive inventory carried out to meet knowledge acquisition needs as part of the “Plan Nord” economic, social and environmental development project. This inventory was carried out between 2010 and 2013. The mapping of surface deposits was carried out using a new approach based on remote sensing techniques. The interpretation was carried out by geomorphologists using RapidEye anaglyph (3D) satellite images of high spatial resolution (5 m). Ground and air control points allowed the validation of the interpreted information. Mapping is available throughout the territory north of the 53rd parallel, representing an area of approximately 680,000 km2. The minimum mapping area is 100 ha.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).** 2023-03-15 Government and Municipalities of Québec services.clientele@mffp.gouv.qc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and Technology Northern Quebec Surface DepotFGDB/GDB https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_NORD/Depots_surface_Nord/DEP_CN_GDB.zip Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_carte_nord&zoom=12¢er=-73.94861,53.26899&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=e93c0c5bbc04e8b8f11e49f6b374cdf7,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_telechargement&zoom=6¢er=-72.29688,59.21013&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=634387214b14c87b4f78d72d2717829f,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Original metadata (https://www.donneesquebec.ca)HTML https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/fr/dataset/571439a0-b6c1-44a5-a7bd-99b754156a7a Territory of the map of surface deposits in Northern QuebecPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/depots-surface-nord-quebecois.pdf Standard for ecological mapping of vegetation in Northern QuebecPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/norme-cartographie-nord-quebecois.pdf Ecological Mapping of the Vegetation of Northern Quebec — Mapping StandardPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/ecological-mapping-vegetation-northern-quebec.pdf Procedures for using a web servicePDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/Procedure_service_Web.pdf Data downloadPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/Telechargement_rapide.pdf Northern Quebec Surface DepotPDF https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Depots_surface/Depots_de_surface_Finale_c.pdf Northern Quebec Surface DepotSQLITE https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_NORD/Depots_surface_Nord/DEP_CN_SQL.zip Description sheet of attributes and their areas of valueXLS https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_NORD/Depots_surface_Nord/1-Documentation/DICTIONNAIRE_DEPOT_SURFACE_NORD.xlsx Web mapping serviceother https://geoegl.msp.gouv.qc.ca/ws/mffpecofor.fcgi?
