Climate Change Adaptation Workshop for Cultural Heritage Places: Report Series

Climate Change Adaptation Workshop for Cultural Heritage Places: Report Series Parks Canada Agency led a series of climate change adaptation workshops across Canada from 2017 to 2019, with support from the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Culture and Heritage Table. The workshops aimed to identify the pressing impacts of climate change on cultural resources at select heritage places, and to develop potential adaptation options. These workshops should be seen as part of an ongoing discussion regarding the impacts of climate change on cultural resources, bringing better understanding of climate change risks and feasible/effective climate change adaptation measures for National Historic Sites and other heritage places. In time, follow-up workshops should be considered, not only to expand the understanding of climate change risks at these heritage places, but also to continue the exploration of adaptation measures that might be implemented to help protect these heritage places from the effects of climate change. The site reports provide an overview of how climate change is affecting some of Canada’s cultural assets and to summarize the discussions that took place at the various Climate Change Adaptation Workshops across the country. The Program Overview document is meant to be used as a companion resource to the six separate case studies that document the eight workshops carried out between 2017 and 2019 for selected parks and historic sites. 2021-09-17 Parks Canada pc.changementclimatique-climatechange.pc@canada.ca History and ArchaeologyNature and EnvironmentClimate ChangeAdaptationWorkshopCultural HeritageParks CanadaNational ParksNational Historic SiteBar UDawsonForillonFort Rodd HillFisgard LighthouseLake LouiseYohoKootenayNewfoundland Program Overview: Climate Change Adaptation Workshop for Cultural Heritage Places PDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/9bdf996a-1006-4a63-b053-0c0c6f78d8cc/download/ccaw-overviewdocument_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf Climate Change Adaptation Workshop Series: Bar U Ranch National Historic SitePDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/34c832e0-253a-4302-b233-b3d125718f6c/download/ccaw-bar_u_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf Climate Change Adaptation Workshop Series: Dawson Historical Complex PDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/c88a78c5-35e4-455b-9c33-c9204e664810/download/ccaw-dawson_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf Climate Change Adaptation Workshop Series: Forillon National ParkPDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/a103f2f5-1cb1-4405-9fa7-c9df49da5355/download/ccaw-forillon_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf Climate Change Adaptation Workshop Series: Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic SitesPDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/14b035a2-ea06-47dd-83d0-29d0de224092/download/ccaw-fortrodhill_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf Climate Change Adaptation Workshop Series: Lake Louise, Yoho Kootenay National ParksPDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/803a40ca-9d05-44b2-805c-db8a7fe045c6/download/ccaw-llyk_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf Climate Change Adaptation Workshop Series: Newfoundland EastPDF https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/92860c1d-dd8c-460b-8f62-4efde81febd2/resource/c6864ccb-0e8a-4665-9980-1fc50cc51d0a/download/ccaw-nfld_en_fr_mar_1_2021.pdf
