Land Cover (generalized)

Land Cover (generalized) This map shows a simplified distribution of land cover types across Canada interpreted from satellite data obtained in 1995. Land cover has an important role in the water cycle as it significantly affects evapotranspiration and the amount of water leaving a watershed. Evapotranspiration is the sum of evaporation and transpiration, both of which are related to types of land cover. Plants with larger surface area and deeper roots have greater transpiration. 2022-03-14 Natural Resources Canada geoinfo@nrcan.gc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and Technologyenvironmentland covermap Download the English JP2 File through HTTPJP2 https://ftp.geogratis.gc.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/raster/atlas_6_ed/eng/6409_land_cover_generalized.jp2 Download the English ZIP (PDF,JPG) file through HTTPZIP https://ftp.geogratis.gc.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/raster/atlas_6_ed/eng/6409_land_cover_generalized.zip Download the French JP2 File through HTTPother https://ftp.geogratis.gc.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/raster/atlas_6_ed/fra/6409_couverture_des_terres_generalisee.jp2 Download the French ZIP (PDF, JPG) File through HTTPZIP https://ftp.geogratis.gc.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/raster/atlas_6_ed/fra/6409_couverture_des_terres_generalisee.zip
