First Annual (2020) Statutory Report Pursuant to Section 10 of the Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Act, Statutes of Canada, Chapter 29, 2019 The Report outlines two broad areas of focus: A. The measures taken to advance reconciliation with Indigenous peoples; and, B. The measures taken to support the self-determination of Indigenous peoples.  The report meets these objectives in three distinct sections on: 1. Departmental response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which describes CIRNAC’s activity to support Indigenous and Northern communities during the crisis; 2. Acknowledging and Addressing the Past, which describes ongoing efforts to acknowledge and address the harmful policies and programs of the past, as well as settle outstanding claims and grievances; and, 3.
