Great initiative! This data will be extremely useful on a wide range of projects. I look forward to seeing the dataset grow.

Looking forward to complete coverage. Am working on a VR application, and the extra precision (and hopefully accuracy) will be welcome.

There were areas east of Peterborough (between Cobourg and Brighton) that were originally in the planned acquisition area, but no data is yet available. Has this data been collected, is it yet to be collected, or was the acquisition area changed altogether?

This looks like a great dataset. Is there any timeline for when the southern region will be filled in? I'm particularly interested in Alberta.

Is this a piggyback project of the Arctic DEM? It's a fantastic data set! Very happy with such high resolution and accurate Open Data.

Would it be possible to make the map on this page more indicative on the areas of coverage by this dataset? Thanks!

Great collection!

Is the Lidar data flown in 2017/2018 for the Canadian Hydrographic Service along the shore of Lake Huron going to be made available through this site?

This specific dataset is still being processed by the Canadian Hydrographic Service at this time.
Canadian Hydrographic Service published on Open Data a national bathymetry dataset at 100 meters resolution that will include Lidar information.

Hello,
Is the actual LIDAR data (raw data) available as Open Source data? Since DTM and DSM are derived from Lidar, I was wondering if the Lidar Data itself was available (southern part...). Thanks

Hi Luca,

Please see below the response from the data owner:

From the Open maps Portal the Raw LIDAR data (.LAS)  is not available.
However for Ontario, New Brunswick and Town of Montreal Raw data (.LAS) are available from the Provincial and Municipal Government..

Molly
