Probably the biggest opportunity for open government is in the healthcare field because it's the largest budget item for every province. The federal and provincial governments need to come up with a consistent national strategy to lower costs and one way to achieve this is to provide access to healthcare spending accounts and treatment data. This would give citizens, businesses, and researchers an opportunity to look for inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
