Canada is a country surrounded by three oceans. Oceanic protected areas are found in all three of these oceans. In the Arctic ocean there is the Anguniaqvia niqiqyuam which was designated a Marine Protected Area on November 16, 2016; in the Pacific Ocean, Bowie Seamount Marine Protected Area is located 180 km offshore and to the west of Haida Gwaii; and in the Atlantic, Gully Marine Protected Area is located 200 km off of Nova Scotia to the east of Sable Island.
