Request Summary: Dept. of Defense with the Dept. of Labour built and operated 'relief camps' in the early 1930s to accompdate unemployed and destitute male workers. I am seeking information concerning the relief camp located on Oyster Bay, Vancouver Island, south of Campbell River, which operated between 1932 and 1935. To capture all information, please search 1930 to 1939. Seeking details of infrastructure , which includes plumbing, potable water (source, access, quality, works involving such, piping, dams if applicable and contractors used). To include plans, designs (including those of buildings) location etc. Internal memos, meeting minutes, correspondance with authorities on any aspect of the project, including success and failures with provincial, local or others that might provide insight in the day to day activities or to any other element of the camp, management, dicipline, organization etc. Photographs showing infrastructure, especially distripution and/or the capture of water, including any dams as built or during construction. The camp was sold to the British American Timber Company in the late 1930's through negotiations with Mr. Ole Buck. Details of that transaction, including any restrictions or constraints applying to either party in the transaction are also hereby requested, which shall also include a copy of the actual agreement.
