Request Summary: Requesting the medical training and background of all those individuals reviewing and adjudicating on treatment benefits at the First Level (N1LA) and National Second Level of Review. Specifically whether these individuals have specific medical training to make determinations on veteran treatment benefits, their frequency and compensation and whether these individuals are contracted to provide this service or are Government of Canada employees. Requesting a copy of the contract between Blue Cross Medivie and Veteran Affairs Canada for any medical review services or determinations, especially those related to treatment benefits decisions and factors for Veterans. Included should be compensation format between Blue Cross and Veteran Affairs if there is a service contract in place. Requesting any documents that provide the policy and procedures for the decision process pertaining to the First and Second National Level Appeals Unit of Veteran Affairs Canada. Requesting the percentage of approved and denied decisions from both the First and Second Level Appeals Unit over the past three years.
