Informal Request for ATI Records Previously Released

Organization: Library and Archives Canada

Year: 2023

Month: July

Request Number: A-2023-00226

Request Summary: Henry Auger was a treaty member of one of the three bands that are now known collectively as Kapawe'no First Nation. The band came to fruition under chief Kinoosayo at Sucker Creek, AB. Many families split off to Swan Hills, Sucker Creek, Grouard and Driftpile. I am writing to seek the historical band lists (may also be called payee lists, or annuity lists) for the three reserves in Grouard - Pakashan, Halcro and Freeman; I am seeking all member names. Secondly, I would like to know what year Henry/Henry Auger signed onto the treaty, and what years he received treaty annuities. I would like to see all years to date starting from 1899 when Treaty 8 was signed at Grouard, AB. Henri/Henry Ambroise Auger was born on December 29, 1917, in Grouard, AB. He died on September 15, 1985, in Slave Lake, AB.
