Request Summary: Link to Elections Canada’s web page on the Consultation on Political Communications in Federal Elections: https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=res&dir=cons/oth/polcom&document=rep&lang=e In June 2020, Elections Canada published discussion papers on three themes: political communications regulated under the Canada Elections Act (CEA), the impact of social media in federal elections, and the protection of electors’ personal information. These discussion papers were distributed to over 225 participants, who had a deadline of September 25, 2020, to respond. The papers were also posted on the Elections Canada website for public comment. The discussion papers posed over 50 questions (see Annex 1 in weblink) to generate discussion and ideas to assist on informing the Chief Electoral Officer’s recommendations to Parliament after the 2019 general election. Elections Canada received 48 written submissions from a diverse range of stakeholders and experts, including the Liberal Party of Canada (see Annex 2 of weblink). I hereby request a copy of the Liberal Party of Canada’s written submissions as respondents to Elections Canada’s June 2020 Consultation on Political Communications in Federal Elections. The Liberal Party of Canada’s submissions would or should have been provided to Elections Canada between June 2020 and September 25, 2020. If the Liberal Party of Canada made multiple submissions, provide each submission in PDF format.
