Request Summary: clarification IRCC policy and proceedures that relate to having an AKA name, that a client has assumed for professional or other bona fide reasons but also keeps their legal name, printed as an observation on IRCC documents. For greater certainty, I am seeking staff guidance on this, as well as information on how an applicant may request this by themself. I confirm that I am seeking final versions of documents only for this request. original Any relevant memorandum, direction, policy, regulation, legislation, et cetera that relates to the printing of alias names/AKAs as an endorsement/observation/miscellaneous note on identity documents controlled by the Department, and how to apply for/obtain such an endorsement/observation/miscellaneous note on an IRCC document. This includes but is not limited to Canadian passports, citizenship certificates, permanent resident cards, CoPRs, work permits, study permits, temporary resident permits, verifications of status, and so on. For greater certainty, my request does not pertain to the printing of alias names/AKAs in lieu of the primary name record on documents without an underlying legal name change, as addressed in IRCC's policy on change of name requirements available on-line."which are still in effect up to and beyond 30 March 2022".
