Request Summary: Records from January 1, 2003 to May 5, 2016 related to: Reports and referrals made under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) s. 44(1) and (2) in relation to allegations of inadmissibility under IRPA s. 34, 35, and/or 37 due to alleged association with members of the former Union of Soviet Socialite Republics (USSR) Committee for State Security (KGB). Furthermore all requests and applications for ministerial relief pursuant to s. 34(2) and s. 42.1(1) of IRPA made by those alleged or found to be inadmissible due to association with the KGB. This includes the number of these requests or applications currently pending, including the year the request or application was initially submitted. Additionally records of all operational and policy discussions; policies; directives; research and other memoranda, including but not limited to: records related to the production of a March 2004 report "KGB: Executive Summary" prepared by Special Investigations Officer Jesse Davidson; inter-office discussions related to policy considerations in dealing with former KGB officers; meetings and communications; email headers and emails; and training materials related to KGB-related inadmissibility reports and referrals.
