Request Summary: On January 24, 2022, we received a notice from the Minister of IRCC stating that since 2018, the Department has been using an advanced analysis system for temporary resident visa applications, which creates a type of classification between complex and simple files. Additionally, it was acknowledged that the Department uses the Chinook software, which collects key data from a file in an Excel table to enable the immigration officer to make a more prompt decision on a number of files. My request is as follows: 1 – I would like to obtain the criteria used by the advanced analysis system for selecting the files for temporary resident visa applications to fully understand which files are considered complex and which are not. 2 – I would like to obtain the information (criteria) contained in the files that is collected by the Chinook system and included in the Excel sheet presented to the officer. 3 – I would like to obtain a completed version of this Excel sheet for accepted and refused files. 4 – Specifically, I would like to obtain the information that is and is not taken into account by the Chinook system, and how the information is processed by the system and presented to the officer for the final decision.
