Request Summary: Requesting for the period January 1, 1995 to June 30, 2021 information on (a) policy and practice/administrative decisions especially at the agency/ministry/departmental level and (b) the information that will provide answers (including in the form of a table or data set) to points A.1, A.2, and A.3 pertaining to hearing loss, hearing damage, tinnitus, and any other auditory deterioration (hereafter collectively referred to as “hearing loss”), including (A) For (i) active and & former employees/personnel of the Department of National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces, and (ii) active and & former employees/personnel of the RCMP: (A.1) the number of claims/filings received each year for hearing loss; (A.2) the number of rejected claims/filings each year for hearing loss; (A.3) the dollar disbursements/payments each year for hearing loss; (A.4) projections/estimates as to number-of claims/filings for hearing loss and dollar-amounts of anticipated claims/filings for hearing loss; (A.5) (a) identified causes of hearing loss, and (b) plans/efforts to reduce hearing loss during employment/ service; (A.6) all research/reports about issuance or usage of Personal Protective Equipment to mitigate hearing loss or protect auditory health, including but not limited to sound moderators (AKA “suppressors", AKA “silencers"); and (A.7) all research/reports about hearing loss, including but not limited to research/reports in the style of Occupational Health and Safety research/reports.
