The Budget 2021 announced that $300 million in funding from the Rental Construction Financing Initiative would be allocated to support the conversion of vacant commercial property into housing. This funding targets the conversion of excess commercial property space into 800 units of market-based rental housing. Please could you provide me with all documentation and communications from the date of the Budget 2021 [from April 19, 2021 to October 16, 2021] sent or received from the SVP and/or VP level, relating to the implementation of this policy, and the $300 million allocation to support the conversion of vacant commercial property into housing. This should include internal government communications and records, including emails and records of meetings and conversations, as well as communications with outside bodies. I would like to know, how much of the $300 million has so far been allocated, -to whom, -which projects, -how many offices have been converted, -where, -at what stage projects are at (i.e., has conversion been completed, ongoing, in the planning process), -planning permission has been granted for each project, -whether each project is for affordable housing, or commercial housing and, -Please describe each property conversion (e.g., two bed condo, one bed apartment, loft conversion, single family home). Please provide policy documents and communications relating to the impact of Covid on the policy, including plans to expand it and funding because of the increase in empty office space.
