Background In an article titled "Repatriation of HEU from Canada to USA" dated 18 January 2021 and published in Nuclear Engineering International (see here: https://www.neimagazine.com/news/newsrepatriation-of-heu-from-canada-to-usa-8458729), it described a "recently completed campaign of used nuclear fuel from the National Research Universal and National Research Experimental research reactors" We request the following information: 1. Confirmation that the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission was notified of these shipments in advance and provided authorization 2. Identification of the license or other arrangement under which authorization was provided. 3. A description of how the Duty to Consult with Indigenous peoples was fulfilled with respect to these shipments 4. A statement of the volume / weight of the used nuclear fuel from each of the National Research Universal and National Research Experimental research reactors 5. A copy of the the certification of the container used for the shipment of the used nuclear fuel from each National Research Universal and National Research Experimental research reactors Please note that with respect to items 4 and 5 we are not requesting any information which would pose a security threat or risk, such as identifying vehicles / carriers for future shipments.Organization: Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
