As a person who recently applied for citizenship, I have been hearing a few different information about which process is faster (Online or Mail) application and would like to know a few things: this request is for any Memo or details and also data that can support the request below. This data request is for the period Aug 2020- Aug 2022 1, IRCC Citizenship Grants Broken down by paper and Online application for the period Aug 31, 2020 - Aug 31, 2022. 2, How long has it taken paper vs Online applications in each period to be completed 3, How many staff are working on each category and most recent staffing plans for the Online applications 4, Reasons Online applications have been taking longer to be processed. Which step in the citizenship process takes the longest to get done (background, language etc) 7, Are there any priority list for processing application outside of urgent request (ie, PR class, so if a person who applied for citizenship is a PR class, Express entry vs one that is a Refugee, or PNP) 8, Reason Online application was introduced to the public without adequate staffing to support the intake or trained staff to support both systems
