Req # 2A-2020-39039

On July 14, 2020, IRCC Minister announced a two-stage approval for fall 2020 and winter 2021 student visa applications. Some of the applications submitted in the system before the lockdown (around March 2020) received approval in the first few weeks of August. I have noticed that since August 18, 2020, almost no applications from Iran have received first-stage approval. I am requesting: (i) a breakdown of the first-stage approval issued from July 14 to September 24 2020 per country; (ii) a breakdown of the first-stage refusal issued from July 14 to today per country; (iii) and, if possible, a ratio of Approved/Refused applications for students with Iranian Origin and other countries.
