Completed Access to Information Requests

Transitional Period

Federal departments are moving their web content to Canada.ca. As a part of that process, proactive disclosure reports will become available through the Open Government portal.  During this transition, if a proactive disclosure report from a specific department is not yet available on the Open Government portal please refer to Proactive disclosure by department or agency where a copy can be found.  For any questions on this issue, please contact us at open-ouvert@tbs-sct.gc.ca .

In 2014, the National War Memorial in Ottawa was rededicated with a number of changes, which included the addition of an appliqué stating "In Service to Canada", a maple leaf and the words "Au Service du Canada". The appliqué was added beneath the original '1914-1918' at the front of the memorial. I hereby request all documents and correspondence relating to the addition of this appliqué, particularly those relating to the reasons for this addition to the monument and the reasons for its placement under the existing notation of the dates of the Great War. I do not request any documents or correspondence relating to the costs of the appliqué, nor anything relating to contracts entered into for its construction, save and except those which mention or relate to the reasons for the appliqué, its wording and/or its location on the monument. I do request any documents or correspondence that concern suggested alternatives or criticisms of the final appliqué and any discussion papers, responses, minutes or any other evidence of any debate concerning the appliqué.
