Description

You can sign in and get the gsb files at http://webapp.geod.nrcan.gc.ca/geod/tools-outils/ntv2.php or the desktop application but it would be nice if they were available under open data so that they could be included into GIS software more easily and distributed.

I am unable to make a provincial request for their GSB files as NRCan's contact links to Provincial points of contact for acquiring their grid shift files is not current. Also, for the territories does Canada Lands hold a higher resolution grid shift file for the territories? Or are there territorial organizations I need to contact? I am only finding general statements of transforming from NAD27 to NAD83 CSRS (no epoch given). If you can supply a suitable email point of contact for Canada Lands (or other PoC) who may support this request better, it would be greatly appreciated.

I work for the Canadian Hydrographic Service and I would like an up-to-date version of the NTv2 gsb shift file. Our organization has some legacy data that is on the NAD27 datum and we would like to shift it to NAD83. We have ntv2_0_20000915.gsb, is this the most up-to-date version? Thank you, Mark McCracken

Mark, Just to close the loop - the data owner has contacted you directly and confirmed that the version you have is the most up-to-date one, and that the release date for the official file is 95-07-05. Thanks for checking in! Karin - the open-ouvert team
