National Hydro Network - NHN - GeoBase Series

National Hydro Network - NHN - GeoBase Series The National Hydro Network (NHN) focuses on providing a quality geometric description and a set of basic attributes describing Canada's inland surface waters. It provides geospatial digital data compliant with the NHN Standard such as lakes, reservoirs, watercourses (rivers and streams), canals, islands, drainage linear network, toponyms or geographical names, constructions and obstacles related to surface waters, etc. The best available federal and provincial data are used for its production, which is done jointly by the federal and interested provincial and territorial partners. The NHN is created from existing data at the 1:50 000 scale or better. The NHN data have a great potential for analysis, cartographic representation and display and will serve as base data in many applications. The NHN Work Unit Limits were created based on Water Survey of Canada Sub-Sub-Drainage Area. 2022-11-07 Natural Resources Canada geoinfo@nrcan-rncan.gc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and TechnologyNHNGeoBaseHydrographic NetworkEarth SciencesGeographyHydrologyWaterNetworkHydrographyHydroRiversLakesCoastlineDrainageSurface waterGeographic information systemsCartographyGeographic dataWatershedsWatercoursesNatural resources National Hydro Network - NHN - GeoBase Series (Group layer)WMS https://maps.geogratis.gc.ca/wms/hydro_network_en?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS&version=1.3.0&layers=hydro_network&legend_format=image%2Fpng&feature_info_type=text%2Fhtml Pre-packaged GPKG files (download directory) (English)GPKG https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/gpkg_en/CA/ National Hydro Network - NHN - GeoBase Series (Group layer)WMS https://cartes.geogratis.gc.ca/wms/hydro_network_fr?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS&version=1.3.0&layers=hydro_network&legend_format=image%2Fpng&feature_info_type=text%2Fhtml Documentation related to National Hydro Network (NHN)PDF https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/doc/ Index of available files (drag and drop the kml file in Google Earth to localize your region of interest)KMZ https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/index/nhn_index_geobase.kmz Pre-packaged Shapefiles files (download directory) (English)SHP https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/shp_en/ Index of available files (French)SHP https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/index/RHN_LIMITE_UNITETRAV_INDEX_2.zip Index of available files (English)SHP https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/index/NHN_INDEX_WORKUNIT_LIMIT_2.zip Pre-packaged Shapefiles files (download directory) (French)SHP https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/shp_fr/ Pre-packaged FGDB files (download directory) (English)FGDB/GDB https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/gdb_en/ Pre-packaged FGDB files (download directory) (French)FGDB/GDB https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/gdb_fr/ Pre-packaged KMZ files (download directory) (English)KMZ https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/kml_en/ Pre-packaged KMZ files (download directory) (French)KMZ https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/kml_fr/ Pre-packaged GML files (download directory) (English)GML https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/gml_en/ Pre-packaged GML files (download directory) (French)GML https://ftp.maps.canada.ca/pub/nrcan_rncan/vector/geobase_nhn_rhn/gml_fr/
