Prairie Agricultural Landscapes

Prairie Agricultural Landscapes The “Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (PAL)” datasets identify areas of the agricultural portions of the Canadian Prairies with similar land and water resources, land use and farming practices. They are represented by vector polygons. Based on selected attributes from the Soil Landscapes of Canada (SLC) and the 1996 Census of Agriculture, the Prairies were classified into 13 (thirteen) classes of Land Practices Group and five (5) Major Land Practices Groups. Typical attributes used to define the Land Practice Groups include: land in pasture, land in summerfallow, crop mixture, farm size and the level of chemical and fertilizer inputs. The five (5) Major Groups were devised to help better understand the relationships between the groups. 2023-02-23 Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada agri-geomatics-agrog@agr.gc.ca AgricultureLand coverAgricultureFarmlandsCropsTerrestrial ecosystems Pre-packaged FGDB filesFGDB/GDB https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/prairieAgriculturalLandscapes/data_donnees/fgdb/ Pre-packaged GeoJSON filesGEOJSON https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/prairieAgriculturalLandscapes/data_donnees/geojson/ Data Product Specification (English)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/prairieAgriculturalLandscapes/supportdocument_documentdesupport/en/ISO_19131_Prairie_Agricultural_Landscapes_Data_Product_Specification.pdf Data Product Specification (French)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/prairieAgriculturalLandscapes/supportdocument_documentdesupport/fr/Paysages_agricoles_des_Prairies_ISO_19131.pdf Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (AGOL) (English)ESRI REST https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=45aa3265a6b5438098dabb2efa055f8e Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (AGOL) (French)ESRI REST https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b2b5ea1716d24a7daaa30edfa7d9f8ce Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (English)ESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/mapservices/aafc_prairie_agricultural_landscapes/MapServer Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (French)ESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/servicesdecarte/aac_paysages_agricoles_des_prairies/MapServer Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (English)WMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/mapservices/aafc_prairie_agricultural_landscapes/MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS Prairie Agricultural Landscapes (French)WMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/servicesdecarte/aac_paysages_agricoles_des_prairies/MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS
