Food Microbiology - Targeted Surveys - 2014 - 2017 Bacterial Pathogens in Cucumbers - Final Report A targeted survey analyzed 3,071 samples of cucumbers for bacterial pathogens such as Salmonella, Shigella, Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157:H7, and generic E. coli. No Salmonella, Shigella, or E. coli O157:H7 were found in any of the samples. High levels of generic E. coli were found in three samples.
