Ontario Forest Biomonitoring Network

Ontario Forest Biomonitoring Network The Ontario Forest Biomonitoring Network (OFBN) monitors the health of mixed hardwood forests across southern and central Ontario. The data set includes: * Individual Tree Data: Decline Index and other measurements of visual stress symptoms of each tree within 111 plots * Decline Index: The Decline Index is a weighted average of tree stress symptoms (percent dead branches, percent slight or strong chlorosis (pale green-yellow leaves) and percent undersized leaves). Averaged for hardwood trees found within each of the 111 plots in each year. * Invasive Plant Species Presence Data * Salamander Data: numbers of individuals of salamander and other animal species in 14 plots * Tree Regeneration Data: monitors numbers of tree seedlings/saplings in 102 plots * Woody Debris Data: amount of woody debris on ground in 102 plots 2024-05-22 Government of Ontario Economics and IndustryEnvironment and Natural ResourcesEnvironment and energyclimate changehardwood forestforest declineforest healthbiomonitoringGovernment information Original metadata (https://data.ontario.ca)HTML https://data.ontario.ca/dataset/122a9dec-e521-457b-bce8-4e7154096371 Original metadata (https://data.ontario.ca/fr)HTML https://data.ontario.ca/fr/dataset/122a9dec-e521-457b-bce8-4e7154096371 Metadata RecordPDF https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/metadata/opendata/Forest_Biomonitoring_metadata_EN.pdf Metadata RecordPDF https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/metadata/opendata/Forest_Biomonitoring_metadata_FR.pdf READMETXT https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/Readme_2021_EN.txt READMETXT https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/Readme_2021_FR.txt OFBN Decline IndexXLS https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/OFBN_DeclineIndex.xlsx Individual Mature TreesXLS https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/OFBN_IndividualMatureTree_data.xlsx Invasive Plant Species PresenceXLS https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/OFBN_Invasiveplant_data.xlsx Salamander DataXLS https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/OFBN_Salamander_data.xlsx Tree RegenerationXLS https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/OFBN_TreeRegeneration_data.xlsx Woody DebrisXLS https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/OFBN_WoodyDebris_data.xlsx Plot LocationsZIP https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/3Land/OFBN/Plot_Locations.zip
