Current Season Automated Snow Weather Station Data

Current Season Automated Snow Weather Station Data The [British Columbia Automated Snow Weather Station Network](http://bcrfc.env.gov.bc.ca/data/asp/index.htm) comprises monitoring stations operated by the Ministry of Environment, BC Hydro, Rio Tinto Alcan, the Greater Vancouver Water District and many other partner organizations. There are [Automated Snow Weather Stations (ASWS)](http://bcrfc.env.gov.bc.ca/about/snow-pillow.htm) monitoring sites around the province, mostly in remote and high elevation locations. Station location data are available [here](https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/ebe546aa-ac34-491c-a828-fdc87fb70610). Data is collected hourly and transmitted through the GOES satellites. Remotely sensed snow and meteorological data (snow water equivalent in mm, snow depth in cm, air temperature in degrees Celcius, cumulative precipitation in mm) from ASWS stations are available in near real-time. The current year ASWS data are updated hourly, combining the data for the current water year (October 1st to September 30th) for all active ASWS stations in the province. Data can be directly accessed via the [Real-Time Water tool](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content?id=39A675506AE54C4CB240849338B7C8D8) and the [Snow Stations Interactive Map](https://governmentofbc.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=c15768bf73494f5da04b1aac6793bd2e). 2024-05-01 Government of British Columbia tony.litke@gov.bc.ca Nature and Environmentair temperatureautomated snow weather stationsmonitoringprecipitationsnowsnow depth snow depthCSV https://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wsd/data_searches/snow/asws/data/SD.csv Original metadata (https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca)HTML https://catalogue.data.gov.bc.ca/dataset/current-season-automated-snow-weather-station-data snow water equivalentCSV https://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wsd/data_searches/snow/asws/data/SW.csv cumulative precipitationCSV https://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wsd/data_searches/snow/asws/data/PC.csv air temperatureCSV https://www.env.gov.bc.ca/wsd/data_searches/snow/asws/data/TA.csv
