Quebec municipalities that regulate the use of pesticides
Since the beginning of the 1990s, several municipalities in Quebec have regulated the use of pesticides on their territory. Such municipal by-laws do not have to be approved by the Minister of the Environment, Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks prior to their adoption. However, municipalities must ensure that the regulatory provisions they apply are not incompatible with Quebec pesticide regulations (Pesticides Act, sections 102 and 103). The list indicates the municipalities that regulate the use of pesticides on their territory as well as the administrative region and the regional county municipality for each of them.
