Canada’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Projections We publish Canada’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions projections each year. This report shows the progress Canada expects to make towards its target. It presents our GHG emissions projections under a few scenarios. This year, we include air pollutant projections. The air pollutant projections reflect our action to reduce air pollution. Air pollutants affect both the environment and human health. The health impacts include a higher risk of stroke, heart disease, respiratory disease and some cancers. Also included for the first time is information about the energy use data underlying the GHG emissions projections. Description of site contents: Because of the large number of tables, results are presented in folders and sub-folders. Below is a description of the folder structure: • previous_projections_precedentes: This folder includes projections that were initially reported in Canada's 7th National Communication and 3rd Biennial Report to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/climate-change/greenhouse-gas-emissions/seventh-national-communication-third-biennial-report.html). • current_projections_actuelles: This folder includes projections that were initially reported in Canada's GHG and Air Pollutant Emissions Projections: 2018 (https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/climate-change/greenhouse-gas-emissions/projections-2018.html). This folder includes two additional sub-folders. Each includes a file named readme_lisezmoi.txt, which provides additional details about the data included in each folder. • The folder named "GHG - GES" includes tables presenting GHG emissions data. • The folder named "Energy - Énergie" includes tables presenting energy and macroeconomic data for each sector included in the "GHG - GES" folder. 2019-02-04 2019-06-28 Environment and Climate Change Canada open-ouvert@tbs-sct.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentCanadagreenhousegasemissionsGHGnationalinventoryreportNIRUNFCCCprovincialprovinceTerritoryTerritoriesCO2CH4N2OHFCPFCSF6NF3carbondioxidemethanenitrous oxidehydrofluorocarbonsperfluorocarbonssulphur hexafluoridenitrogen trifluorideAlbertaABBritishColumbiaBCManitobaMBNew BrunswickNBNewfoundlandLabradorNFLDNova ScotiaNSNorthwestNTNunavutNUOntarioONPrinceEdwardIslandPEIQuebecQCSaskatchewanSASKYukonYKEnergyStationaryCombustionSourcesElectricityHeatGenerationFossilFuelProductionRefiningMiningOilExtractionManufacturingIndustryIndustriesIndustrialConstructionCommercialInstitutionalResidentialAgricultureAgriculturalForestryTransportCivilAviationDomesticRoadTransportationLight-dutyGasolineVehiclesTrucksHeavy-dutyMotorcyclesDieselPropaneNaturalRailwaysNavigationMarineOff-RoadPipelinesFugitiveCoalProcessesMineralProductsCementLimeChemicalNitricAcidApidicPetrochemicalMetalIronSteelAluminiumMagnesiumSmeltersCastersConsumptionHalocarbonsUndifferentiatedSolventEntericFermentationManureSoilsDirectPastureRangePaddockIndirectBurningResiduesWasteSolidDisposalLandWastewaterHandlingIncinerationForestCroplandGrasslandWetlandsSettlementsLand-usepollutantpollutionairozoneparticulatemattervolatileorganiccompoundnitrogenoxidessulphuroxideammoniaPollutantsEnvironmentalIndicatorsGothenburg ProtocolParis AgreementPCFPan Canadian Frameworkblack carbonArctic Councilmercurycarbon monoxideopen sourcesLULUCFLand-useland-use change and forestryreferencetechnologyscenarioGreenhouse gasesAir pollutionPollution and WasteAir Greenhouse gas emissions projections (English)HTML https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/climate-change/greenhouse-gas-emissions/projections.html Greenhouse gas emissions projections (French)HTML https://www.canada.ca/fr/environnement-changement-climatique/services/changements-climatiques/emissions-gaz-effet-serre/projections.html View ECCC Data Mart (English)HTML http://data.ec.gc.ca/data/substances/monitor/canada-s-greenhouse-gas-emissions-projections View ECCC Data Mart (French)HTML http://data.ec.gc.ca/data/substances/monitor/canada-s-greenhouse-gas-emissions-projections?lang=fr
