Fresh Water Quality - Pacific Rim

Fresh Water Quality - Pacific Rim This project monitors water quality at 14 sites (streams and lakes) within the Long Beach Unit of the Park. A total of 46 water quality parameters are recorded at each site twice per year (spring and fall), including concentrations of nutrients, metals, and physical properties. The thresholds applied to the data are standards prescribed by the federal or provincial government for freshwater aquatic life and overall water quality is ranked based on the annual average CCME WQI (Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Water Quality Index). This measure is used to report and act on issues related to water quality and water pollution in the park from external sources, answering the important questions of: (1) Is water quality, in selected streams or lakes of the Long Beach Unit, within set water quality limits for aquatic wildlife as determined from concentrations of anthropogenically generated contaminants and (2) Is the overall water quality within the specified quality bounds? 2024-05-15 Parks Canada yuri.zharikov@pc.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentPacific Rim NPRFreshwater qualityWater quality indexwater pollutionFreshwater aquatic habitat Freshwater Quality - Pacific Rim - DataCSV https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/856b9876-58f2-4629-b1a5-a43cc934a49c/resource/4042170d-79d3-4caf-9bfd-59acc3aea00d/download/pacific_rim_npr_freshwater_fresh_water_quality_2002-2016_data.csv Freshwater Quality - Pacific Rim - Data DictionaryCSV https://open.canada.ca/data/dataset/856b9876-58f2-4629-b1a5-a43cc934a49c/resource/1a085eca-383d-4c2a-8e49-3a2b8f317cc9/download/pacific_rim_npr_freshwater_fresh_water_quality_2002-2016_data_dictionary.csv
