Surface deposit

Surface deposit __The link: *Access the data directory* is available in the section*Dataset Description Sheets; Additional Information*__. Surface deposit is the layer of loose material that covers rock. The deposit may have been established during the retreat of the glacier at the end of the last glaciation or by other processes associated with erosion and sedimentation. The nature of the loose deposit is evaluated based on the shape of the land, its position on the slope, the texture of the soil, or other indicators. Surface deposit maps make it possible to distinguish the main categories of surface deposits and to know their nature, thickness and distribution on Quebec territory. Based on the interpretation of aerial photographs at a scale of 1/40,000 and control points in the field as part of the ecoforest inventory of southern Quebec, this mapping contributes in particular to the development of ecological forest products. This map covers almost the entire territory of Quebec south of the 52nd parallel. It is distributed by map sheet at a scale of 1/50,000. Surface deposits have a minimum area of 4 ha.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).** 2024-04-04 Government and Municipalities of Québec renseignements@mrnf.gouv.qc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and Technology Download links per sheet 1/250,000CSV https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Depots_surface/Csv/Dep_sud_matri.csv Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_amenagiste&zoom=13¢er=-71.88045,47.05895&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=43d9a70f905c3ec082bc6a181308c25e,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_telechargement&zoom=6¢er=-67.99891,48.9935&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=634387214b14c87b4f78d72d2717829f,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Original metadata (https://www.donneesquebec.ca)HTML https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/fr/dataset/8a503fcd-208a-4a9a-b7ca-fbb3467a7b69 Legend of surface depositsPDF https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Depots_surface/1-Documentation/Legende_depots_surface.pdf Availability of the surface deposit cardPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/index-dispo-depot.pdf Mapping the 5th ecoforest inventory of southern Quebec - Associated methods and dataPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/carto_5E_methodes_donnees.pdf Ecoforest stratification standard - 4th ecoforest inventoryPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/norme-stratification.pdf Mapping ecological districts: standards and techniquesPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/carto-district-ecol-normes-et-tech-4.pdf Data downloadPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/Telechargement_rapide.pdf Download links per sheet 1/250,000SHP https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Depots_surface/shp/Dep_sud_matri.zip Fact sheet of attributes and their areas of valueXLS https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Depots_surface/1-Documentation/fiche-descriptive-depot.xls
