Growing Degree Days

Growing Degree Days Growing degree days (GDDs) are used to estimate the growth and development of plants and insects during the growing season. Growing Degree Day are computed by subtracting a base value temperature from the mean daily temperature and are assigned a value of zero if negative. Base temperatures are a point below which development does not occur for the organism in question. Growing Degree Day products are created for base 0, 5, 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. GDD values are only accumulated during the Growing Season, April 1 through October 31. 2023-02-23 Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada agri-geomatics-agrog@agr.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentScience and TechnologyGDagclimatePrecipitationFarmlandsAgricultureTemperatureCrops Data Product Specification (English)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/agClimate/supportdocument_documentdesupport/en/ISO_19131_AgClimate_-_Data_Product_Specification.pdf Growing Degree DaysWMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/app_agclimate_agclimat/agclimate_gd/ImageServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS Using AAFC Climate Services (French)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/agClimate/supportdocument_documentdesupport/fr/Utilisation_des_services_climatiques_dAAC.pdf Data Product Specification (French)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/agClimate/supportdocument_documentdesupport/fr/Donnees_agroclimat_-_SPC.pdf Agroclimate Interactive Maps (English)HTML https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/agclimate Agroclimate Interactive Maps (French)HTML https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/agclimat Growing Degree DaysESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/app_agclimate_agclimat/agclimate_gd/ImageServer Growing Degree DaysESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/app_agclimate_agclimat/agclimate_gd/ImageServer Pre-packaged GeoTIF files (No linguistic component)GeoTIF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/agClimate/data_donnees/tif/gd/ Using AAFC Climate Services (English)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/agClimate/supportdocument_documentdesupport/en/Using_AAFC_Climate_Services.pdf
