Information received in response to the data gathering initiative on bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives

Information received in response to the data gathering initiative on bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives To increase transparency and to facilitate access to information on substances in Canadian commerce, the Government of Canada is publishing a compilation of the non-confidential information received in response to the Notice with respect to bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives (SAFAs). The notice was published on November 13, 2021, in the Canada Gazette, Part I, pursuant to section 71 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA). The notice collected information on the commercial status, industrial processes (for example, facility releases) and downstream use of 188 BPA SAFAs, including BPA, from manufacturers, importers and those who used these substances to produce goods for the 2019 calendar year. The data collected will be used to inform further prioritization decisions, risk assessment activities and risk management, if needed. A compilation of the non-confidential information is available for download in Excel and CSV formats. It should be noted that these documents do not include an assessment of the potential risks these substances may pose to the environment or to the health of Canadians. When reviewing the data, it is important to consider: • the definitions applicable to the notice; • the persons required to provide information; • the exclusions; and • the reporting requirements. Please refer to the notice or guidance document for further details on data collected. 2023-04-12 Environment and Climate Change Canada substances@ec.gc.ca Nature and EnvironmentChemicalsAccess to informationEnvironmentSubmissionsChemical industryToxic substancesBPA SAFAsection 71Canadian Environmental Protection Act (1999)CEPA 1999Chemicals Management Planchemical substancesdata gatheringCanada GazetteCMP Notice with respect to bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives - EnglishHTML https://canadagazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2021/2021-11-13/html/notice-avis-eng.html#na2 Guidance manual for responding to: Notice with respect to bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives - EnglishHTML https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/evaluating-existing-substances/bisphenol-a-structural-analogues-functional-alternatives-guidance-manual.html Guidance manual for responding to: Notice with respect to bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives - FrenchHTML https://www.canada.ca/fr/environnement-changement-climatique/services/evaluation-substances-existantes/analogues-structuraux-substances-fonctionnelles-remplacement-bisphenol-a-guide-orientation.html Notice with respect to bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives - FrenchHTML https://canadagazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2021/2021-11-13/html/notice-avis-fra.html#na2 Bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives (BPA SAFA) Excel Reporting File (ERF) - EnglishHTML https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/evaluating-existing-substances/bisphenol-a-structural-analogues-functional-alternatives-reporting-form.html Bisphenol A (BPA) and BPA structural analogues and functional alternatives (BPA SAFA) Excel Reporting File (ERF) - FrenchHTML https://www.canada.ca/fr/environnement-changement-climatique/services/evaluation-substances-existantes/analogues-structuraux-substances-fonctionnelles-remplacement-bisphenol-a-fichier-declaration.html View ECCC Data Mart (English)HTML https://data-donnees.ec.gc.ca/data/substances/outreach/data-gathered-under-section-71-of-the-canadian-environmental-protection-act-cepa-1999/information-received-in-response-to-the-data-gathering-initiative-on-bisphenol-a-bpa-and-bpa-structural-analogues-and-functional-alternatives/?lang=en View ECCC Data Mart (French)HTML https://data-donnees.ec.gc.ca/data/substances/outreach/data-gathered-under-section-71-of-the-canadian-environmental-protection-act-cepa-1999/information-received-in-response-to-the-data-gathering-initiative-on-bisphenol-a-bpa-and-bpa-structural-analogues-and-functional-alternatives/?lang=fr
