Annual Crop Inventory 2022

Annual Crop Inventory 2022 In 2022, the Earth Observation Team of the Science and Technology Branch (STB) at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) repeated the process of generating annual crop inventory digital maps using satellite imagery for all Canadian provinces, in support of a national crop inventory. New this year, a map of the agricultural regions in the Yukon Territory was also produced. A Decision Tree (DT) based methodology was applied using optical (Landsat-8, Landsat-9, Sentinel-2), and radar (RCM) based satellite images, and having a final spatial resolution of 30m. In conjunction with satellite acquisitions, ground-truth information was provided by: provincial crop insurance companies in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, & Quebec; point observations from the PEI Department of Environment, Water and Climate Change; Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; University of Guelph - Ridgetown campus; British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture; and data collection supported by our regional AAFC Research and Development Centres in St. John's, Kentville, Fredericton, Guelph, Summerland and Whitehorse. 2024-05-03 Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada agri-geomatics-agrog@agr.gc.ca AgricultureCrop insuranceSatellitesForage cropsFarmlandsAgricultureCrops Pre-packaged GeoTIF files (No linguistic component)GeoTIF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/annualCropInventory/data_donnees/tif/2022/ Annual Crop Inventory, 2022ESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/imageservices/annual_crop_inventory_2022/ImageServer Annual Crop Inventory, 2022ESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/servicesimage/inventaire_annuel_des_cultures_2022/ImageServer Annual Crop Inventory, 2022WMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/servicesimage/inventaire_annuel_des_cultures_2022/ImageServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS Annual Crop Inventory, 2022WMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/imageservices/annual_crop_inventory_2022/ImageServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS Data Product Specification (English)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/annualCropInventory/supportdocument_documentdesupport/en/ISO%2019131_AAFC_Annual_Crop_Inventory_Data_Product_Specifications.pdf Data Product Specification (French)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/annualCropInventory/supportdocument_documentdesupport/fr/Inventaire_annuel_des_cultures_d_AAC_Specifications_de_contenu_informationnel_produites_conformement_a_la_norme_ISO_19131.pdf Crop classificationsCSV https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/annualCropInventory/supportdocument_documentdesupport/aci_crop_classifications_iac_classifications_des_cultures.csv Annual Crop Inventory (English)HTML https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/annual-crop-inventory Annual Crop Inventory (French)HTML https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/inventaire-annuel-cultures
