Canada (2007)
Contained within the Atlas of Canada's Reference Map Series, 1961 to 2010, is a bilingual map of Canada. It reflects many changes in populated place and physical feature names including the new name of the Yukon and Newfoundland and Labrador. As well, three new National Parks have been added: Gulf Islands near Vancouver, Ukkusiksalik in Nunavut and Torngat Mountains in Northern Labrador. The provinces and territories are emphasized with colour and all provincial, territorial and international boundaries are shown including the Northern sector and Canada's 200-mile offshore Exclusive Economic Zone. The map's projection, a vertical near-side perspective, provides an interesting three-dimensional view of Canada and effectively shows Canada's geographic relationship with other nations of the Northern Hemisphere. A digital relief shading is used to show the physiography of the country. The map depicts the location and name of each of Canada's National Parks and a large selection of populated places, roads and railways.
