Forest certification

Forest certification [forest certification] (https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/les-forets/amenagement-durable-forets/certification-forestiere/) is a voluntary process by which an accredited and independent registration body recognizes that forest management practices meet pre-established standards for sustainable forest management. Compliance with the requirements of a certification system is assessed by an external auditor. Two forest certification systems are currently used by the forest industry in Quebec: the [Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)] (https://forests.org/fr/) and the [Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)] (https://ca.fsc.org/ca-fr). A management certificate is granted to a forest area and its scope may extend to one or more management units. Forest certification monitoring is limited to public forests managed under the Quebec forest regime.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).** 2024-04-04 Government and Municipalities of Québec renseignements@mrnf.gouv.qc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and Technology Forest certificationCSV https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/LIM_TERRITOIRE_FOREST_PUBLIC/Certification_forestiere/LISTE_CERTIF_FOR.csv Forest certificationFGDB/GDB https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/LIM_TERRITOIRE_FOREST_PUBLIC/Certification_forestiere/CERTIF_FOR_GDB.zip Forest certificationGPKG https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/LIM_TERRITOIRE_FOREST_PUBLIC/Certification_forestiere/CERTIF_FOR_GPKG.zip Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_default&zoom=6¢er=-71.19824,48.09333&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=hoverFeatureId,efe018fa75833868c4068d1aa93969d0,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8&wmsUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fservicescarto.mffp.gouv.qc.ca%2Fpes%2Fservices%2FForets%2FSTF_WMS%2FMapServer%2FWMSServer%3F&wmsLayers=(Certification%20foresti%C3%A8re:igoz17) Original metadata (https://www.donneesquebec.ca)HTML https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/fr/dataset/f5516054-5b2c-458a-b7d5-bd34ca9df3bc Portrait of forest certification in public forests in QuebecPDF https://cdn-contenu.quebec.ca/cdn-contenu/forets/documents/gestion/Portrait_cartographique_certif_for.pdf Procedures for adding a web servicePDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/Procedure_service_Web.pdf Forest certificationSHP https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/LIM_TERRITOIRE_FOREST_PUBLIC/Certification_forestiere/CERTIF_FOR_SHP.zip Territorial forest subdivisions (STF)other https://servicescarto.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/pes/services/Forets/STF_WMS/MapServer/WMSServer?
