Hamilton Harbour Area of Concern (AOC) Monitoring

Hamilton Harbour Area of Concern (AOC) Monitoring Dataset includes 8 water quality surveys conducted between May and September 2021 at 4 stations in Hamilton Harbour by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) staff. The 4 stations surveyed by MECP are Environment and Climate Change Canada’s 4 long-term monitoring stations in Hamilton Harbour and include centre station and the 3 corners of the harbour. During each survey, water quality samples were collected from 1 metre depth and just above the sediment bed. Depth-integrated samples from the upper or surface layer of the lake were also collected at centre station only. Water samples were analyzed for nutrients and related parameters including: * Phosphorus * Nitrogen * Chlorophyll * Suspended solids * Reactive silicate * Carbon In addition, secchi disc depths and water column profiles of temperature, conductivity, turbidity, pH, and dissolved oxygen were also collected at each station. 2024-07-24 Government of Ontario Government and PoliticsHamilton HarbourLake OntarioGreat LakesArea of ConcernAOCwater qualitywater quality profilewater chemistrynutrientsmonitoringeutrophicationEnvironment and Natural Resources 2021 Hamilton Harbour nutrient monitoring lab resultsXLSX https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/2Water/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC/Hamilton Harbour 2021 nutrient sampling lab results and secchi.xlsx Hamilton Harbour Station 385 2021 water quality profile dataXLSX https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/2Water/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC/Hamilton Harbour 2021 Stn 385 profile data.xlsx Hamilton Harbour Station 296 2021 water quality profile dataXLSX https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/2Water/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC/Hamilton Harbour 2021 Stn 296 profile data.xlsx Hamilton Harbour Station 298 2021 water quality profile dataXLSX https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/2Water/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC/Hamilton%20Harbour%202021%20Stn%20298%20profile%20data.xlsx Hamilton Harbour Station 412 2021 water quality profile dataXLSX https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/2Water/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC/Hamilton%20Harbour%202021%20Stn%20412%20profile%20data.xlsx Metadata RecordPDF https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/metadata/opendata/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC_Monitoring_metadata_EN.pdf Metadata RecordPDF https://files.ontario.ca/moe_mapping/downloads/metadata/opendata/Hamilton_Harbour_AOC_Monitoring_metadata_FR.pdf
