Southern Quebec Land Accounts (Land Cover Change)

Southern Quebec Land Accounts (Land Cover Change) Geographic data from Southern Quebec Land Accounts, derived from vector work, are disseminated in a set of matrix files with a spatial resolution of 50 meters. They describe the land cover of Quebec's territory south of the 51st parallel at two distinct moments. These geospatial data are those used in the report [Southern Quebec Land Accounts] (http://www.stat.gouv.qc.ca/statistiques/environnement/comptes-terre-meridional.html) published in October 2018. **In order to improve the Southern Quebec Land Accounts and better anticipate the future needs of users, we would like to be informed of their use (scope, objectives of use, territory, association with other products, etc.). You can write to us at maxime.keith@stat.gouv.qc.ca **. These data are organized according to 9 land cover classes based on System of Economic and Environmental Accounting (SEEA) standards: artificial surfaces, agricultural land, forest wetlands, herbaceous or shrub wetlands, inland plans and streams, enclosed coniferous forests, deciduous forests in closed canopy, mixed closed canopy forests and open canopy forests. The two land cover maps of southern Quebec are developed for two distinct moments: the 1990s and 2000s. The comparison of these two maps is used to create a third map of land cover changes (transition from one land cover class to another). Land Accounts data are compiled using the [Vector Grids System for a Quebec Spatial Data Infrastructure] (https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/fr/dataset/systeme-de-grilles-vectorielles-pour-une-infrastructure-quebecoise-de-donnees-spatiales).
