Biological refuge (designated and planned)

Biological refuge (designated and planned) Biological refuges are small forest areas in the domain of the State that are excluded from forest management activities and in which habitats and species are permanently protected in order to conserve the biological diversity associated with old-growth forests. There are currently 3,714 in Quebec, distributed relatively uniformly throughout the managed forests in the domain of the State. Biological refuges may be designated under the Sustainable Forest Development Act (LADTF, chapter A-18.1) or planned before legal designation. In general, forest management activities are prohibited on the territory of a biological refuge. In addition, the majority of legally designated biological refuges are exempt from mining activities, which allows them to be recognized as protected areas and to be registered in the Quebec Register of Protected Areas (RAP) maintained by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change (MDDELCC).**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).** 2022-03-30 Government and Municipalities of Québec services.clientele@mffp.gouv.qc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and Technology Biological refuge (designated and planned)CSV https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/CONSERVATION_PROTECTION/Refuges_biologiques/LISTE_REFUGE.csv Biological refuge (designated and planned)FGDB/GDB https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/CONSERVATION_PROTECTION/Refuges_biologiques/REFUGE_BIO_GDB.zip Biological refuge (designated and planned)GPKG https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/donneegratuite/foret/CONSERVATION_PROTECTION/Refuges_biologiques/REFUGE_BIO_GPKG.zip Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_STF_AP&zoom=6¢er=-76.87609,49.62021&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=b1ad498b801c6e28f44544fce4595198,c6e5a223d771e6c55a0ac638dc047fbf,aa7441be8d323ebfdb62b93f49ddd4e3,b1c014b2019a78ccc4feb072b665d511,ec4fc5be4445d4952786bd2c9128c17f,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Original metadata (https://www.donneesquebec.ca)HTML https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/fr/dataset/52fa8da2-23e7-4881-b249-a7db42c6ac43 How to add a web servicePDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/Procedure_service_Web.pdf Biological refuge (designated and planned)SHP https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/CONSERVATION_PROTECTION/Refuges_biologiques/REFUGE_BIO_SHP.zip Biological refuge (designated and planned)SQLITE https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/donneegratuite/foret/CONSERVATION_PROTECTION/Refuges_biologiques/REFUGE_BIO_SQLITE.zip Forest territorial subdivisions (STF)other https://servicescarto.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/pes/services/Forets/STF_WMS/MapServer/WMSServer?
