Annual Crop Inventory 2010

Annual Crop Inventory 2010 In 2010 the Earth Observation Team of the Science and Technology Branch (STB) at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) continued the process of generating annual crop inventory digital maps using satellite imagery. Focusing on the Prairie Provinces, a Decision Tree (DT) based methodology was applied using both optical (AWiFS, Landsat-5, DMC) and radar (RADARSAT-2) based satellite imagery, and having a final spatial resolution of 56m. Methods were also developed to enhance the optical classification with RADARSAT-2 imagery, addressing issues associated with cloud cover. In conjunction with satellite acquisitions, ground-truth information was provided by provincial crop insurance companies and point observations from our regional AAFC colleagues. The overall process for Crop Inventory Map includes: satellite data acquisition; field data acquisition for classification training and accuracy assessment; and, operational implementation of the classification methodology. 2021-07-27 Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada agri-geomatics-agrog@agr.gc.ca AgricultureForm DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and TechnologyRemote sensingAgricultureSatellitesFarmlandsCropsCrop insuranceForage cropsLand coverGeomaticsGeographic information systemsGeographyGeographic data Pre-packaged GeoTIF files (No linguistic component)GeoTIF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/data_donnees/agr/annualCropInventory/tif/2010/ Data Product Specification (English)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/supportdocument_documentdesupport/annualCropInventory/en/ISO%2019131_AAFC_Annual_Crop_Inventory_Data_Product_Specifications.pdf Data Product Specification (French)PDF https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/supportdocument_documentdesupport/annualCropInventory/fr/Inventaire_annuel_des_cultures_d_AAC_Specifications_de_contenu_informationnel_produites_conformement_a_la_norme_ISO_19131.pdf Crop classificationsCSV https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/supportdocument_documentdesupport/annualCropInventory/aci_crop_classifications_iac_classifications_des_cultures.csv Annual Crop Inventory 2010WMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/imageservices/annual_crop_inventory_2010/ImageServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS&layers=0&legend_format=image/png Annual Crop Inventory (French)HTML https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/iac Annual Crop Inventory 2010WMS https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/services/servicesimage/inventaire_des_cultures_2010/ImageServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS&layers=0&legend_format=image/png Annual Crop Inventory (English)HTML https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/aci Annual Crop Inventory 2010ESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/imageservices/annual_crop_inventory_2010/ImageServer Annual Crop Inventory 2010ESRI REST https://agriculture.canada.ca/atlas/rest/services/servicesimage/inventaire_des_cultures_2010/ImageServer
