Ecological classification of Quebec territory

Ecological classification of Quebec territory The ecological classification of Quebec territory consists of mapping and describing ecological units in a system with nine levels of perception between the continental and landscape scales. It presents the diversity of terrestrial ecosystems in all of Quebec taking into account both the characteristics of the vegetation (physiognomy, structure and composition) and the physical environment (relief, geology, geomorphology, hydrography). The nine levels that compose it are: the vegetation zone and sub-zone at the continental scale (1,000,000 km2), the bioclimatic domain and sub-domain at the national level (100,000 km2), the ecological region and subregion at the regional scale (10,000 km2) and the regional landscape unit, the ecological district and the vegetation stage at the landscape scale (10,000 km2) and the regional landscape unit, the ecological district and the vegetation stage at the landscape scale (100 to 1,000 km2).**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).** 2025-05-01 Government and Municipalities of Québec inventaires.forestiers@mrnf.gouv.qc.ca Form DescriptorsNature and EnvironmentScience and Technology Ecological classification of Quebec territoryFGDB/GDB https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Classification_ecologique/CLASSI_ECO_QC_GDB.zip Ecological type recognition guidesHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_ecologie&zoom=6¢er=-73,50.5&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=ea5bce41cf896ed4680348eb0eeb001c,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_ecologie&zoom=5¢er=-69.69531,54.57766&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=ea5bce41cf896ed4680348eb0eeb001c,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Open forestHTML https://www.foretouverte.gouv.qc.ca/?context=_telechargement&zoom=6¢er=-67.99891,48.9935&invisiblelayers=*&visiblelayers=634387214b14c87b4f78d72d2717829f,1da64ddfeaf23710b8a9ad95133fb5d8 Original metadata (https://www.donneesquebec.ca)HTML https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/fr/dataset/6ec9e3a5-e83b-4938-9a8f-30691297d2a3 READ MEPDF https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Classification_ecologique/1-Documentation/LISEZ-MOI_classi-eco-QC.pdf Map of territories and guides for the recognition of ecological typesPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/guide-reconnaissance.pdf Procedures for adding a web servicePDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/Procedure_service_Web.pdf Ecological classification of Quebec territoryPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca//documents/forets/inventaire/classification_ecologique_territoire_quebecois.pdf Vegetation stages in southern QuebecPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/DO_Etage_vegetation_MRNF.pdf Map of vegetation zones, bioclimatic areas and ecological regionsPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/CA_zones_domaines_regions_ecologiques.pdf Mapping ecological districts: standards and techniquesPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/carto-district-ecol-normes-et-tech-4.pdf Map of ecological regions of QuebecPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/carte-regions-ecologiques.pdf Data downloadPDF https://mffp.gouv.qc.ca/documents/forets/inventaire/Telechargement_rapide.pdf Fact sheet of attributes and their areas of valueXLS https://diffusion.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/Diffusion/DonneeGratuite/Foret/DONNEES_FOR_ECO_SUD/Classification_ecologique/1-Documentation/DICTIONNAIRE_CLASSI_ECO_QC.xlsx Web mapping serviceother https://geoegl.msp.gouv.qc.ca/ws/mffpecofor.fcgi?
